Our Mission
WalkieHawkie's mission is to provide protection and comfort to Montclair State University's community on and off campus. Through the HawkBuddy system which allows students to be escorted safely home, direct links and connections to mental health resources, and a supportive approach to reporting physical and emotional confrontations, WalkieHawkie will allow students, professors, and visitors to feel defended daily.
Walkie Hawkie's founders met in Entreprenurial Mindset when brainstorming ways they could better influence the culture on Montclair State's campus. The founders connected on an equal concern over the growing sexual and physical assault issues at Montclair. They hope WalkieHawkie will bring the students of Montclair hope and a sense of security through this monumental point in their lives.
